What Food & Beverage Equipment Is Up Against
Daily washdowns
High-pressure hot water, steam and caustic sanitizers strip conventional grease out of bearings within days.
Incidental food contact
Any lubricant above or near the product zone must be NSF H1 registered. One wrong grease gun is an audit finding.
Freezers to ovens
The same plant can run blast freezers at -40°F and fryers or ovens above 400°F, often on the same conveyor.
Audit documentation
FSMA, SQF and BRCGS auditors expect a lubrication map, H1 registration letters and clear labeling at every point.
Food and beverage plants ask more of a lubricant than almost any other industry. The grease has to protect a bearing under load, survive a caustic washdown every shift, work from the blast freezer to the fryer, and still be safe if a trace ends up on the product. On top of that, it has to be documented well enough to satisfy an auditor.
Why food plant lubrication fails
Most failures we see come down to three things: grease washing out of bearings after sanitation, the wrong (non-H1) product being used near the line, and too many different lubricants in the maintenance crib. Each one is preventable with the right products and a simple lubrication map.
What modern H1 lubricants change
Early food-grade lubricants were mostly white mineral oil with limited performance. Today’s synthetic H1 greases and oils match or beat many conventional industrial products on temperature range, water resistance and service life. That means food plants no longer have to choose between safety and reliability.
How Oilsan helps
We supply a complete range of NSF H1 registered HUSKEY™ greases, oils and anti-seize compounds and ship them to food and beverage plants in Türkiye and around the world. Tell us your lubrication points and we will help you consolidate your list, map every point to an H1 product and send the documentation your auditor will ask for.
New Lubrication Technologies for Food & Beverage
Synthetic PAO and PAG H1 lubricants
Fully synthetic base oils cover a much wider temperature range than white mineral oil, last longer between changes and reduce the number of products a plant needs.
Sub-micron PTFE and solid additives
Finely dispersed solids build a protective film that holds up under washdown and shock loads, extending relubrication intervals.
Biobased H1 lubricants
Lubricants made from US-grown seed oils now carry NSF H1 registration, helping plants meet sustainability goals without giving up food safety.
Digital lubrication management
Plants are moving lubrication schedules and H1 records into maintenance software, making audits faster and misapplication rarer.

Food-Grade LubricantsView product →Common Questions
What is the difference between NSF H1 and H2 lubricants?
H1 lubricants are registered for use where incidental food contact is possible. H2 lubricants are only for equipment with no chance of food contact. Any point above or near the product zone should use H1.
Can one food grade grease cover the whole plant?
Often most of it. A wide-range synthetic H1 grease such as HUSKEY HTL-500 covers freezer bearings through oven bearings, which lets many plants consolidate to two or three products.
Do you provide NSF registration letters and SDS?
